Hot Tamales - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. ground beef
2 tsp. red pepper
5 tsp. salt
3 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
4 medium onions (put in blender with one 8 oz. tomato sauce)
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. corn meal (yellow)
4 oz. chili powder

Preparation

Put all ingredients except 1 can tomato sauce, 2 ounces chili powder and corn meal in roasting pan and mix well by hand.
Take about 1 tablespoon at a time.
Roll in corn meal and wrap in papers especially for tamales.
Wet papers first so they won't be so stiff.
Put all the tamales in a turkey pan, layering in opposite directions.
Boil about 5 quarts of water and add 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce and 2 ounces chili powder.
Pour over tamales and simmer 2 hours with cover on.
Put the turkey pan across 2 burners on top of stove.
Makes 85 to 100 tamales.
