Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. oil (Crisco)
2 Tbsp. vanilla
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. salt
juice of 1/2 lemon
3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted *
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 c. tart apples, peeled and chopped
1 1/2 c. pecans or walnuts

Preparation

*May use self-rising flour if you leave out baking soda.
