Texas-Style Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. pinto beans
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/4 lb. salt pork
    1 clove garlic
    2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
    3/4 c. diced green peppers
    6 drops hot pepper sauce
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cover beans with water; soak overnight.
    Do not drain.
    Add onion, salt pork, garlic, salt and a dash of pepper.
    Cook, covered, for 2 hours over low heat.
    Add tomatoes, green pepper, hot pepper sauce and sugar.
    Cook, covered, for 3 more hours. Serve with corn bread.
