Green Chili Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 strips bacon, fried crisp and drained
    4 to 6 medium to large potatoes, peeled and cubed 1-inch
    1 small onion, diced
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    5 c. or so cold water (to cover potatoes)
    green chili to taste (4 to 5 fresh or 1 small can diced)
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Saute onion in bacon drippings (leave about 1 to 2 tablespoons in skillet to saute onion). Combine all ingredients and crumble bacon into pot. Cook for 1 hour or more until potatoes are soft. Serve like a tortilla soup with tortilla chips or fried corn tortillas and grated cheese in the bowl. Yummy! Enjoy.
