Green Wonder Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can French-style green beans
    1 can small English peas
    1 can fancy Chinese vegetables
    1 can water chestnuts, thinly sliced
    1 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
    3 medium onions, thinly sliced
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. vinegar
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Drain juice from all vegetables.
    Heat sugar and vinegar to dissolve; add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and refrigerate for several hours before serving. This will keep for several weeks in refrigerator in a tightly covered bowl.
    Yields 3 pints.
