Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. soda
    2 c. Spanish peanuts (raw)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup and water.
    Cook slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Wipe down sides of pan with wet cloth.
    Cook to soft ball stage (238\u00b0).
    Add peanuts and salt.
    Cook to hard-crack stage (300\u00b0), stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter and soda.
    Stir and pour into buttered pan.
    Lift around edges as it cools, stretching candy.
    Turn over when firm.
    Make it thin. Cool.
    Break into pieces.
