Apple Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (24 oz.) jar chunky applesauce
    6 eggs, separated
    1 can undiluted evaporated milk
    nutmeg
    1 stick butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 (10-inch) unbaked pie shells
Preparation
    Mix applesauce, butter, egg yolks, sugar and nutmeg.
    Add milk.
    Pour mixture into unbaked pie shells.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until custard is firm.
    Top with meringue.
