Batter Buns - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2/3 c. warm water
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soft shortening
1 egg
Preparation

Measure water into mixer bowl.
Add yeast, stirring to dissolve.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg and 1 cup flour.
Combine with mixer on low speed, guiding batter into beaters with rubber scraper. Add remaining flour; beat with scraper until smooth.
Spoon into greased muffin cups, filling each a scant 1/2 full.
Let rise in warm place until batter reaches top of muffin cups, 30 to 40 minutes.
Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
Serve warm.
Makes 12 buns.
