Company Best Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium cucumbers
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
    5 tsp. salt
    4 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Place whole cucumbers
    in
    a
    glass
    or
    stoneware jar; cover with
    boiling
    water.
    Let
    stand
    overnight;
    drain. Repeat 3 times.
    On the fifth day, drain and slice in 1/2-inch pieces. Combine sugar, spices,
    salt and vinegar;
    bring to a boil.
    Pour over
    pickles; let stand for 2 days.
    On the third day, bring to a boil and pack in hot jars and seal.
