Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 egg, beaten
1 onion, chopped fine
3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together.
Blend in egg, onion and buttermilk.
Do not mix too long.
Drop by spoonfuls into hot grease. Fry until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
