Baked Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    6 slices buttered bread (crust removed and cubed)
    2 eggs, beaten with 1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. green pepper (optional)
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 can mushroom soup, undiluted
    sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute mushrooms in butter.
    Cook onion and celery.
    Add mayonnaise while hot.
    In casserole dish, put 3 slices buttered cubed bread; add mushroom mixture.
    Add rest of bread layered. Pour egg mixture over; cover and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight. Spread soup over bread and sprinkle with cheese before baking. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
