Delmonico Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium potatoes
    6 Tbsp. flour
    8 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 1/2 c. light cream or half and half
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of black pepper
    1 c. grated sharp Cheddar
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Wash, peel and dice potatoes.
    Boil in lightly salted water until just done, but not mushy.
    Drain potatoes and place in 2-quart greased casserole dish.
    In medium saucepan, melt 6 tablespoons butter and blend in flour.
    Gradually add cream, stirring.
    Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper.
    Pour over potatoes and top with grated cheese.
    Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter, stir in bread crumbs, mixing until coated.
    Sprinkle over top of potatoes.
    Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes.
