Chicken Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. hen or fryer
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 large onion
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. file
    1/4 chopped bell pepper
    1 tsp. chopped garlic
    1 large tomato
Preparation
    Boil chicken until tender.
    Let cool and take meat off bones. Place in pot; add 2 quarts water.
    Add salt, pepper and garlic. Add to chicken.
    Cut tomato in small pieces and add.
    Brown 3 tablespoons flour in 1/2 cup Crisco.
