Chinese Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cans whole beets
    1 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. vinegar
    dash of cloves
    dash of salt
    3 Tbsp. ketchup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. beet juice
Preparation
    If you want to make less, divide everything by three.
    Use a large shallow pan.
    Add all ingredients.
    Discard all juice you don't need.
    Cut all beets into bite size and dump into pan.
    Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes.
    Stir all the time until mixture thickens. That's it.
    Keeps well in the fridge for salads.
    Good hot or cold.
