Himmel And Erde(Heaven And Earth - A German Dish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 large potatoes
3 cooking apples, peeled, cored and quartered
salt and black pepper
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 oz. butter
1 lb. blutwurst (black pudding sausage)

Preparation

Cook potatoes in salt water, drain off most of water and add apples.
Cook until tender.
Mash the potatoes and apples, season with salt and pepper.
Add sugar and butter.
Slice the blutwurst and fry in the remaining butter until brown on each side.
To serve, arrange the fried sausage over the mashed potatoes and apples mixture.
