Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers (glass jug)
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. salt
    1 Tbsp. alum
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except cucumbers.
    Pour over cucumbers and stir once a day for 6 days.
    Ready to eat.
    Must be kept in refrigerator.
    There won't be enough liquid to cover the cucumbers the first day.
    Don't give up.
    There will be more each day.
