Vegetarian Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried kidney beans or 4 c. cooked
    1/3 c. oil
    2 large onions, diced
    6 cloves garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 Tbsp. ground cumin
    1 tsp. oregano
    1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 c. bulghur wheat
    28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
    3 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
    2 tsp. butter
    1/2 c. finely chopped red onion
Preparation
    Rinse off the kidney beans in sieve and remove any stones. Soak overnight.
    Drain the water.
    Add fresh water to cover by 2 inches.
    Cook until tender.
    Drain again.
