Ambrosia Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. uncooked oats
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. dates, chopped
    1 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Mix together all dry ingredients.
    Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add vanilla.
    Blend in dry ingredients.
    Mix together oats, coconut, raisins, dates and nuts.
    Stir into creamed mixture.
    Shape into small balls, walnut-size, and place well enough apart to spread while baking on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 12 to 14 minutes.
    Makes 6 dozen.
