Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. Spry (can use Crisco)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    1/2 c. pineapple juice
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    5 slices pineapple
    maraschino cherries
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Combine Spry, salt and vanilla.
    Add sugar gradually, add egg and cream well.
    Add baking powder to flour and sift 3 times.
    Add small amounts of flour to creamed mixture alternately with the pineapple juice, mixing until smooth.
    This may all be done on mixer.
    Sprinkle brown sugar on the bottom of pan (8 x 8-inch) that has been well greased.
    Arrange pineapple and cherries on top of sugar.
    Pour batter over this.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes. Turn upside down on plate and cool.
    Serve with whipped cream.
