Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 egg
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 small onion, grated
1 c. buttermilk

Preparation

Combine all dry ingredients.
Add milk, egg and onion.
Mix well.
Drop teaspoon in deep fat (300\u00b0).
Cook until golden brown. Place on paper towel to drain.
