Good For You Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 c. crushed Shredded Wheat
    1 c. All-Bran
    1 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. oil
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dates, nuts, raisins or prunes (optional)
Preparation
    Mix all cereal in large bowl.
    Pour on boiling water and stir to moisten.
    Add oil and 1/2 of buttermilk.
    Stir until smooth. Add eggs and sugar; stir.
    Add 1/2 of flour, salt and soda.
    Stir again.
    Add other 1/2 of buttermilk and flour.
    Add dates, nuts or whatever (chopped).
    My recipe says bake 20 minutes at 400\u00b0; I have better luck baking 19 to 20 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Makes about 24 muffins.
