Buttermilk Breakfast Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    scant 1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Make crumbs of flour, sugar, salt and shortening; take out 1/2 cup for topping.
    Add baking powder, baking soda and buttermilk to remaining mixture.
    Add milk to crumb mixture and beat.
    Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) pans.
    Fill pans evenly.
    Sprinkle 1/2 cup crumbs on top.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
