German'S Chocolate Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 bar Baker's German's sweet chocolate
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. imitation butter flavoring (I have left this out and cake is just as good)
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Partially melt chocolate over hot water.
    Remove and stir rapidly until melted.
    Cool.
    Cream the sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, flavorings and buttermilk.
    Sift together flour, soda and salt.
    Add to shortening.
    Mix well.
    Blend in chocolate.
    Pour into a well-greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.
    Bake in a slow oven at 300\u00b0 about 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove from pan while still hot and place under tightly fitting cover until thoroughly cooled. Tastes great anytime, with or without glaze.
