Apple Crunch - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 medium apples
3 Tbsp. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
pinch of salt
Preparation

Pare apples and slice into a 9-inch pie pan.
Add water and sprinkle apples with 1/2 cup sugar.
Dot with butter or margarine and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Put flour, brown sugar, salt and shortening (best with butter) in mixing bowl and work together until mixture is of the consistency of corn meal.
Then sprinkle it over the top of the apples.
Bake 45 minutes in a moderate oven (350\u00b0) or until top is golden brown.
