Country Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
    2 carrots, diced
    6 celery stalks, diced
    2 qt. water
    1 onion, chopped
    6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    6 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    In a large pot, cook potatoes, celery and carrots in water until tender, about 20 minutes.
    Drain; reserve liquid and set vegetables aside.
    In the same pot, saute onions in butter until soft.
    Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
    Gradually add milk.
    Stir constantly until thick.
    Stir in cooked vegetables.
    Add 1 cup or more of reserved cooking liquid until soup is right thickness desired.
