Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 large onion, chopped
    4 c. diced raw potatoes
    1 large carrot, chopped
    4 c. chicken broth
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. light cream
    2 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill (for garnish; optional)
Preparation
    Melt butter in a large pan.
    Add onion, potato and carrot. Cover and cook over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes.
    Add broth, salt and pepper; simmer until vegetables are tender.
    Remove from heat.
    Puree half the mixture in a blender or mash, then return pureed soup to pan.
    Stir in cream.
    If desired, garnish each bowl with dill.
