Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. diced dates
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix together and pour over the batter and nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes in an 8 x 8-inch pan.
(I usually double the recipe and use a 13 x 9-inch pan.
It will take approximately 60 minutes at 375\u00b0.)
