Old Fashioned Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 boxes sifted powdered sugar
    1 stick margarine or butter
    2 Tbsp. milk
    4 drops food coloring
    up to 10 drops peppermint oil
Preparation
    Have margarine at room temperature.
    Put 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
    and
    the
    butter in mixer and cream.
    Add milk and mix
    again.
    Add 1 cup powdered sugar and cream again. Add food coloring
    and
    oil\tof
    peppermint. Add most of powdered sugar and
    cream together until doughy.
    Knead on bread board or wax paper. Add a small amount of powdered sugar until dough holds together.
    Pinch off about 1/2 cup. Roll into long rope. Cut off pieces with scissors onto wax paper.
    Air dry several hours before storage.
