Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sticks margarine
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
2 c. plain flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar together until smooth.
Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well.
Add sifted flour to mixture alternately with buttermilk, soda and salt.
Stir in vanilla, coconut and nuts.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites last.
Bake in three 8-inch greased layer cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
