Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean beef
    1 to 3 onions, cut up
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt (if desired)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. ground cloves
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    3 Tbsp. catsup
    2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cut beef in cubes.
    Brown in small amount of oil (use heavy ovenproof skillet, such as iron).
    Add onions.
    Mix flour, salt, pepper and cloves and put over browned beef.
    Add vinegar, catsup and boiling water to mixture.
    Stir and put on low heat for a few minutes.
    Cover with lid and bake at 300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0 until tender.
