Mother'S Dumplings With Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    5 Tbsp. chicken broth
    1 chicken and broth
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cut flour, salt, pepper and shortening as one would for pie crust.
    Then add beaten eggs and cut in.
    Then add chicken broth a tablespoon at a time.
    Form into ball.
    Roll on floured pastry cloth, about 1/4-inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
    Cook, debone and cut up chicken.
    Drop dumplings into boiling broth from chicken; add 1/2 cup of milk and cook until tender.
    Return chicken pieces to broth and dumplings.
