Ingredients

3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. oleo
dash of mace
1/4 c. water
1 pkg. yeast
1 egg, beaten
3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Scald milk, stir in sugar, salt and oleo.
Cover.
Put warm water in bowl and sprinkle yeast.
Stir until dissolved.
Add warm milk mixture, egg and half flour.
Beat until smooth.
Add remaining flour to make soft dough.
Knead.
Let rise until doubled.
Roll out and cut; rise about 1 hour more and fry.
