Chef Salad A L'Adam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. wafer-thin slices of sweet onion (Bermuda or Italian)
    1/2 c. strips Gruyere or Swiss cheese (matchlike strips about 1-inch long)
    1/2 c. ham strips (matchlike strips about 1-inch long)
    1/2 c. strips green pepper (matchlike strips about 1-inch long)
    1 1/2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 Tbsp. peanut oil
    salt
    freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients and mix well.
    Add seasonings to taste. Let stand in the refrigerator overnight.
    Serve cold on a bed of fresh spinach leaves or leaf lettuce.
