Russian Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, undrained
    1 tsp. soda
    1 egg
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix the sugar, egg and pineapple.
    Let set until sugar dissolves (about 2 hours). Stir occasionally. Sift soda and salt with flour. Add nuts and mix with other ingredients.
    Stir by hand 100 times. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
