Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 c. water
3/4 c. milk
2 eggs, beaten
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
4 tsp. finely chopped onions
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
frying oil

Preparation

Combine cornmeal and water over a low fire until water is cooked down.
Add milk, oil, eggs and onion.
Mix in all dry ingredients with the cornmeal mixture.
Drop spoonfuls into 375\u00b0 oil and fry until crispy, golden brown.
Drain and serve immediately.
