Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. all-purpose flour
    dash of salt
    8 eggs, separated
    4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    vanilla wafers (or other plain, round cookies)
    4 to 5 medium size bananas
Preparation
    Combine 1 cup sugar, flour and salt in top of a double boiler. Stir in 8 egg yolks and milk; blend well.
    Cook, uncovered, over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened.
    Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.
    Remove
    from heat. Add vanilla.
    Layer bottom of a casserole dish with vanilla wafers.
    Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
    Pour about 1/3 of custard over bananas.
    Continue to layer wafers, bananas and custard to make 3 layers of each, ending with the custard.
