Butter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. butter (may use margarine, but butter is better)
    2 c. cake flour, sifted
    5 eggs
Preparation
    Cream butter, beat in sugar until creamy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating as you go.
    Fold in flour.
    Pour cake mixture into a butter tube pan, a round one that measures 27 inches around.
    Bake in a slow oven, 325\u00b0, for one hour.
    Requires no icing but cake develops a wonderful crust during baking.
