Mema'S Spiced Pears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. pears
    8 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    4 c. cider vinegar
    2 c. water
    7 sticks cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. whole cloves
    2 Tbsp. allspice
Preparation
    Wash pears; leave stem ends on.
    Scrape blossom ends.
    Boil pears in just enough water to cover for 10 minutes.
    Drain and prick skins with fork.
