10-Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. bean mixture
    2 Tbsp. salt (optional)
    2 qt. water
    ham hocks or smoked sausage
    1 large onion, cut into lengths
    1 large can tomatoes
    1 large red or green pepper, chopped
    1 clove garlic
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Wash dry beans.
    Cover with water.
    Add 2 tablespoons salt (optional) and soak overnight.
