Make Ahead French Bread (Toast) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large eggs
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 c. light cream or half and half
    1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 loaf French bread, cut 1 inch thick diagonally
    1/4 c. softened butter
    1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Butter a large baking dish.
    In medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Place bread in baking dish in single layer with sides touching.
    Pour entire mixture over bread, cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In small bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, walnuts and corn syrup.
    Spread evenly over bread.
    Bake 40 minutes or until puffed and golden.
    Serves 6 to 8.
