Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. cornmeal (plain)
1/2 c. flour (plain)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. Crisco
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Combine all dry ingredients.
Add Crisco, beaten egg and milk; mix well.
Add a little water if batter seems stiff.
Pour into hot, well-greased pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated 435\u00b0 to 450\u00b0 oven.
Makes 8 or more servings.
