Seafoam Topping - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Combine egg whites, sugar, cold water and salt; beat until thoroughly mixed.
    Place over rapid boiling water in a double boiler, continuing to beat until mixture peaks on beater.
    Remove from boiling water.
    Add vanilla.
    Mix.
    Spread on cake.
