Ingredients

1/3 cup sugar
2 3/4 cups milk
1/4 cup corn starch
2 tablespoons margarine
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation

In saucepan, mix first 3 ingredients.
Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils 1 minute.
Remove from heat, stir in margarine and vanilla.
Chill. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
For chocolate pudding, increase sugar to 1/2 cup and add 3 tablespoons cocoa.
