Apple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. peeled, cored and sliced apples
    3/4 c. maple syrup
    4 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
    1 1/2 Tbsp. water
    1/4 c. softened butter
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. undiluted evaporated milk
Preparation
    Combine apples and maple syrup in saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat until apples are just tender.
    Combine cornstarch and water; add to apple mixture.
    Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until mixture is clear and comes to a boil.
    Pour into 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish.
