Old Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Beat butter at medium speed of an electric mixer; gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add eggs; beat well.
    Combine next 3 ingredients.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk; mix well.
    Cover and chill 1 hour.
    Work with half of dough at a time and store remainder in refrigerator.
    Place stockinette cover on rolling pin; flour well. Roll dough to 1/4-inch on a lightly floured pastry cloth.
    Cut with a 2 1/4-inch round cutter and carefully place on greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
    (Cookies will be pale.)
    Cool on wire racks.
    Yields 3 1/2 dozen.
