Punch Bowl Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yellow cake mix
    1 (5 1/2 oz.) instant vanilla pudding mix
    1 (20 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    1 (20 oz.) can drained fruit cocktail
    1 (20 oz.) can drained chunk pineapple
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. coconut
    1 (16 oz.) Cool Whip
    1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Prepare 2 (8-inch) round cakes according to cake mix directions.
    Cool.
    Place 1 cake into punch bowl.
    Prepare pudding as package directs and cover 1st cake with 1/2 pudding, then 1/2 cherry pie filling, 1/2 fruit cocktail, 1/2 pineapple chunks, 1/2 coconut and 1/2 Cool Whip topping.
    Sprinkle 1/2 chopped nuts over and repeat 2nd cake layer as before.
    Can make 8 to 24 hours before serving.
