Custard Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

pastry for 9-inch one-crust pie
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
4 eggs
2 2/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
Prepare pastry.
Beat eggs slightly with hand beater.
Beat in remaining ingredients.
Pour filling in pastry lined pie plate.
Place in oven and bake 20 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350\u00b0.
Bake until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean, 15 to 20 minutes longer.
Refrigerate pie.
Serve chilled.
Serves 8.
