Chocolate Intrigue - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. French vanilla
3/4 c. chocolate syrup
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. French peppermint extract (if desired)
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream butter thoroughly and gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
Blend in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Combine milk and vanilla.
Add alternately with the dry ingredients, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Blend thoroughly on low speed after each addition.
Pour two-thirds of batter into 10-inch tube pan, greased on the bottom.
