Hungry Jack Beef Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. black pepper (optional)
    1 (16 oz.) can pork and beans
    1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 c. bottled barbecue sauce
    1 Tbsp. onion, finely chopped
    1 Tbsp. green pepper, finely chopped (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Brown meat; drain.
    Stir in other ingredients.
    Bake in a 2-quart casserole for 30 minutes.
    If desired, shredded Velveeta cheese or American can be sprinkled on top and casserole returned to oven just long enough to melt cheese.
    Serves 6 to 8.
