Grandma Leonard'S Apple Cake - cooking recipe

6 to 8 apples, coarsely chopped
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. sifted plain flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Combine apples and sugar.
Let stand for 15 to 20 minutes. Beat eggs slightly.
Stir in oil and vanilla.
Mix flour, salt, soda and cinnamon.
Stir in apples and oil mixture alternately. Stir in nuts.
Spoon into greased and floured pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
